Your off-road dirt bike adventure begins at Leopard Plains, a rugged-luxury safari camp just outside Maun on the edge of the Okavango Delta. Set on a private game reserve, it’s the perfect base to ease into Botswana’s wild landscapes.
After check-in, riders can opt for a 40 km warm-up ride to get familiar with the terrain, or relax by the pool and enjoy the bushveld surroundings. The evening includes a guided night game drive, offering your first wildlife encounter.
Leopard Plains features 10 spacious luxury tented rooms with en-suite bathrooms, private decks, and solar-powered comfort. With open skies, fresh air, and no air conditioning, the camp delivers an authentic yet refined safari experience.
During the dry season (May–October), the area hosts Africa’s second-largest zebra migration, with chances to see elephants, springbok, lions, and more.

Day 2 takes you along the Boteti River, riding an ancient wildlife migration route toward the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. This stretch is rich in game, with frequent sightings of elephant, antelope, and hippo along the riverbanks.
Midday, we stop for a relaxed riverside picnic at a busy watering hole. Enjoy local favourites like biltong and dry wors, alongside classic picnic fare, while wildlife gathers nearby.
As the sun sets, the adventure shifts to a unique starlit campout on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. A candlelit dinner is served under vast open skies, followed by an African-guided stargazing experience around the campfire, sharing traditional interpretations of the night sky passed down through generations.
When conditions allow, sleep under the stars on the pans, or retreat to a comfortable tent if the night turns cool. Wake to breakfast with endless horizons, hot bucket showers, and the rare silence that makes this place unforgettable.

DAY 3 | CROSSING THE MAKGADIKGADI
Makgadikgadi Pan Crossing & Planet Baobab
Day 3 delivers one of the most unique riding experiences in Africa — a full pan crossing of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Riding across this vast expanse of salt and sky feels otherworldly, with endless horizons in every direction. Covering an area roughly the size of Switzerland, the Makgadikgadi is one of the largest salt pan systems on Earth — raw, remote, and unforgettable.
By afternoon, you arrive at Planet Baobab, an iconic desert oasis set among ancient baobab trees, many over 4,000 years old. This character-filled camp blends Afro-chic comfort with a laid-back, social atmosphere — the perfect reward after a big day on the bike.
Accommodation is in quirky, comfortable thatched huts inspired by traditional Botswana villages, complete with en-suite bathrooms. Cool off in the largest swimming pool in the Kalahari, enjoy hearty pan-African cuisine, and unwind at one of the most legendary bars in the region.

DAY 4 | Savannah Riding & Elephant Sands
Elephant Sands: A Ride Through the Savannah and then Dinner with Giants
Day 4 features a rewarding ride through open savannah landscapes, with flowing tracks and increasingly sandy sections as you approach the day’s destination.
The day ends at Elephant Sands, a remote bush lodge set around a natural waterhole within a 16,000-hectare private conservancy. While elephant sightings at the waterhole can never be guaranteed, large herds visit regularly — and when they do, the experience is extraordinary.
As evening falls, enjoy dinner overlooking the waterhole, watching elephants and other wildlife come and go freely, with no fences restricting their movement. Accommodation is in comfortable thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms and mosquito nets, offering an authentic night immersed in the bush.

The reward is exceptional riding through true big-game country, with regular sightings of elephant, antelope, wild dog, and leopard along the way.
The day ends at Wildtrack Safaris Eco Lodge, set within a private concession bordering Chobe National Park and Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park. Remote and exclusive, the lodge delivers outstanding wildlife viewing in an untouched environment.
