Introducing Muddy Face Botswana, a kick-ass, officially registered company in the Republic of Botswana that’s been tearing up the scene since 2015. Founded by the one and only Ross Branch, a legendary World Championship Rally Rider and World Rally Raid Championship Winner, and the unstoppable event organizer Lola Berrie, this crew is all about unleashing the untamed spirit of adventuring in Botswana. Trip to Amazing Places in the Tuli Block
DAY 1-2 | KWA NOKENG LODGE
Night one and two are spent at Kwa Nokeng Lodge, meaning ‘at the river’ in the local language Setswana. This charming lodge overlooks the majestic Limpopo River, offering splendid views of indigenous trees and an array of bird-life. You may even catch a glimpse of a sunbathing crocodile or lounging hippo in the water.
After taking a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, gather around the ‘mokoro’ bar, share stories, and make new friends with fellow travelers. As you enjoy a delightful dinner under the sprawling Mashutu tree, take in the serene atmosphere and prepare for a well-deserved rest.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast provided by the Lodge before continuing your journey. At Kwa Nokeng Lodge, you have the option to order from an A’ La Carte menu or book buffet meals, including choices for children.
DAY 3-4 | KWADIWA RANCH LODGE
Night three and four bring us deep within the Tuli Block to Kwadiwa Ranch Lodge. This newly constructed safari lodge is nestled on the banks of the magnificent Limpopo River, surrounded by the untamed wilderness of Botswana’s Tuli Block near Bainsdrift.
Immerse yourself in the enchanting experience offered by large lawns and a beautiful swimming pool, complete with a separate kiddies pool.
Kwadiwa Ranch Lodge provides activities suitable for the entire family, such as boat cruises, game drives, and night drives.

No pictures will ever do this event justice. Especially since I never stopped once to take a photo! The memories live on and the reminiscing with a great bunch of people. It was unbelievable.
Amazing and so completely out my comfort zone! Riding balls to the wall or in our case, fanny to the floor! We didn’t even know if we were on the right track!
Sand, sand and even deeper sand. Tight and technical! And super cool! We loved it!
It got better and better! More and more difficult. More and more fun. More and more comaraderie as we got through the stages.
The scenery! The riding! My epic monkey without whom I couldn’t have done any of it. She had my cornering taped and when we over cooked corners she was hanging out oval track racing style. Pushing through river beds! You name it – we did it! “We got this Mom!” was what she kept saying.
We camped in stunning spots, ate lunch under baobabs and prepped bikes with a beer in hand and told tales of the day with like minded adventurers. Nothing better!
So many epic moments. So much comaradie. So much fun! Such a brilliantly run event! Such fun camping and riding. Needless to say we FINISHED with as much joy and jubilation from us and the other competitors and organisers.

As the dust settles (quite literally) on the exhilarating whirlwind that was the Muddy Face Rally, the GS Team takes a moment to catch our breaths—not that it’s easy after three days of mud-splattered grins, rock-strewn paths, and the kind of sand you find in places you didn’t know existed. It’s with hearts as full as our mudguards that we extend a colossal, tire-spinning THANK YOU to each and every one of you.
Your unwavering support and engagement were the real champions, even as we faced the kind of falls that make you question the laws of physics. To all the iron members who powered through, you’re legends in your own right, turning adversity into triumph, and for that, we salute you with handlebars held high.
The camaraderie shared, amidst the relentless challenges of mud, dust, rocks, and those oh-so-joyful sand pits, was nothing short of miraculous. It’s clear we didn’t just ride trails; we rode waves of laughter, shared stories, and perhaps, even a little bit of madness (the good kind, of course).
Speaking of unforgettable moments, who else is eager to see Charan Moore give us an encore of his legendary drum-beating performance? And let’s not forget those sneaky detours around the corner when nature called, unexpectedly turning into some of the most memorable pitstops of the rally. Charan, your multifaceted talents did not go unnoticed!
It’s not just about the ride; it’s about the people, the faces (muddy or otherwise), and the spirit of this incredible community. Rest assured, next time, the GS team lineup will include my wife and a few fellow Beemer riders—expanding our family of dirt and grit enthusiasts.
A titanic thank you from the bottom of our hearts (and from the depths of our washing machines). My dad and I are already counting down the days until we can share these moments again. Your passion fuels our engines, and your spirit lights up the path ahead.
